But do you know that God will “pay you” when you seek Him out?
Let’s take a look at this issue of God “paying you” for your efforts.
It begins with this verse:
Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
The word “rewarder” is a business term that comes from the Greek word, μισθαποδότης misthapodotēs (a combination of two words, “hire” and “pay, reward”) and it is the ONLY time this word is used. Since God uses it just once, we should take notice of it. It is best translated, “one who pays wages, a rewarder.” The Amplified Classic says this verse this way:
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].
So if you stop and think about it, God rewards you for seeking Him out. WOW! THEN, He rewards you for doing His work that He has designed and assigned you to do.
Rev 22:12 “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.
Doesn’t that sound like a MUCH better life to live than your way? In fact, it is the combination of verse five and six that the full nature of God rewarding us comes out.
To please God one must draw near to Him ( τὸνπροσερχόμενον in the semi-technical sense usual in the Epistle), and no one can draw near who has not these two beliefs that God is and will reward those who seek Him. So that Enoch’s faith, and the faith of every one who approaches God, verifies the description of Hebrews 11:1 : the unseen must be treated as sufficiently demonstrated, and the hoped for reward must be considered substantial.
Our reward “must be considered substantial” for only seeking Him, let alone doing our assignments for Him. What an awesome Angel Investor God is for us.
Again, for the Bible verses we have heard and read, it boils down to in business:
Matt 6:33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Seek first His Kingdom business, and all these things will be added to you.
